Large hail, strong winds hit N. Texas | WFAA.com Large hail and strong winds blew through North Texas during Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Monday and early Tuesday morning.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for much of North Texas until after 10 p.m. was canceled. Another Severe Thunderstorm Warning popped up for Dallas at about 3 a.m. It was over by 4 a.m.

After the storms Monday afternoon, long flight delays were reported at both Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field.

In Allen, some students who walk home north of the Exchange were kept at school as storms passed through.

Flooding was reported in Wylie, where the city reported the S-Curve was closed in the 1900 block of McMillen Road.

April House Care Checklist

Staying on top of your home maintenance can save you money, time, and a lot of trouble in the long run. We have been roofing in Dallas for a while and we have seen our share of house problems that could have been prevented with just a little bit of monthly maintenance.

The trouble is that it can be hard to remember to take care of all of the little things in your home. If you have a hard time remembering everything you need to do take a look at this list of April tasks and save yourself some time and money in the long run.

April House Cleaning Checklist Some housecleaning and preventative maintenance tasks only need to be done once or twice a year. The problem is, we forget to do them once or twice a year.

The best home cleaning schedule is to break down annual and seasonal tasks, and attack them with a monthly cleaning schedule. Nothing gets too backed up; and essential house cleaning eventually gets done. All without a major life overhaul.

Clean the fireplace. Empty ashes. Clean gas jets in the hearth.

Check smoke alarm batteries. Change if needed.

Check the exterior for any areas needing repair or paint.

Take down storm doors and windows.

Inspect, repair and vacuum window screens.

Clean your windows and let the sun shine in.

Clean curtains and other window treatments. Wash what you can, dry clean what you can, call professionals for the rest.
